The Honeymoon

After the smoke had all cleared from the wedding, we took off for 6 days and 5 nights for Club Noah Isabelle in Palawan. Club Noah is actually one of Slingshot's clients and we had heard so much about it that there was really no other place (except maybe for Chiang-mai, Thailand) that we wanted to go. We had no regrets as it was a wonderful way to spend our honeymoon. Actually, we didn't laze around too much during our stay because there was so much to do. We had an activity officer assigned to us who offered a list of programmed activities that we could join every day so there was no lack of things to do. We kayaked around the island, went diving, picnicking, snorkelling, took pictures, etc.

Although both TJ and I are avid divers (TJ just got his Divemaster certification, we only dove three times while we were there because the rates were expensive and there was already a lot to see. snorkelling. Black-tip reef shark pups cruised underneath our cabaņa, jacks, snappers, mullet, rabbitfish, bumphead parrotfish, jacks, sweetlips, groupers abounded even in the shallows. At night, batfish hung around the waterside restaurant Nirvana. Unfortunately, the reefs around Club Noah had suffered extensive damage from coral bleaching because of el Niņo and there was not much in terms of coral life. The enormous variety of fish, and the proliferation of fish offset this though, and we would be treated to sights we don't normally see at Anilao, such as seaweed forests, a few large Barracuda, and a school of juvenile jacks feeding on anchovy, enormous brightly colored giant clams.

On our last night, we were treated to a wonderful dinner for two of seafood, salad, wine and fondue beneath the stars, serenaded by the staff. Something we won't quickly forget, along with the spectacular sunsets and sunrises and the dinners on the beach.
