Part 2: The Final Stretch

There's time for a few hugs of shared excitement and nervousness between friends.

Between these two, Sisterhood means more than just sharing the same blood.

It's 8:30 am and the Bride and her Maid of Honor still have to be made up. A bit of panic sets in as people coming and going are doing so at a slightly more frantic pace.

The Bride with her cousin and bridesmaid, Cathy on the balcony after being made up and just before it was time to put on her gown.

The Bride in her wedding gown by Patrice Ramos-Diaz. Maisa conceptualized the gown herself and the final product was a design refined and embellished by the Designer.
An airy confection consisting of layers of ivory chiffon embellished at the spaghetti-strapped bodice and the chapel-length train with delicate beadwork, and with strings of sparkling beads dangling down her bare arms, it was, according to the bride, 'a sight to delight the eyes'.

Maisa checks her train's attachments to make sure they're firmly in place with the silvery dragonfly pin that Patrice provided as per Maisa's request for a such a detail somewhere on her dress.

Maisa describes that period between putting on her dress to getting to the church aptly as "standing on the edge of forever", and it's that period when she really 'felt' the transition between being engaged, to being a bride on her wedding day. A good thing to have friends there for these emotional times.

Prixie helps Maisa put on her wedding jewelry, a delicate necklace of white gold leaves and citrine flowers.

Everyone helps to dress the bride. It's a major team effort, to assemble all the pieces properly. With a veil as long as Maisa had to wear, wondering which side is up is far from a simple matter.
